GLENOAKS STABLES RIDING SCHOOL PROGRAM

New for 2008, Glenoaks Stables is offering British Horse Society Certified Instruction to both youths and adults enhancing our already fun and successful program with classical European Training techniques. Our program teaches students to understand a horse’s natural movement and how we can influence this movement as riders. A solid foundation starts with focusing on gaining control and understanding of one’s own body movements and biomechanics so that the rider can effectively influence the horse’s natural movement.

Our riding philosophy is based upon a deep respect for horses as a living being and how we can improve their lives through good horsemanship. As part of our program, students learn the importance of careful grooming and basic horse health care, how to properly maintain tack and other equipment used for riding, as well as understanding the basic stabling requirements necessary to maintain a healthy horse.

Many students who start out in our Riding School move on to become successful horse owners. We offer the opportunity to buy your own horse and to even compete on the show circuit through our Training Business, known as, Isola Stables

Group Lessons are $65.00 per student, per lesson. The Riding School is open Tuesday through Sundays.

Theory Classes and Schedule:

Glenoaks is now offering Theory Classes designed to provide further education to our riders that is supplemental to their time in the saddle.

Have you ever wondered why horses behave the way they do and why some people seem to have such a natural ability to work with and understand them? Do you understand how horses relate to one another in the wild and what the term "alphamare" really means? How does knowledge of this instinctive behavior enable us to be better riders and horse handlers? These types of questions and more will be addressed during our first class.
